History

Kall Oscar Edwin Westlund emigrated to Everett Washington from the Kristenhamn Sweden area (Varmland) in 1909. He married Julia (Persdotter) Olson in 1913 in Everett. He was a farmer in Sweden and like many other Swedes came to the USA for a better life. Many of his family and Julia’s followed them to this new country. Julia was a housewife and Oscar was a dairy farmer. They moved to Seattle in 1930. They had three girls, Lorrain, Margaret and June. Oscar retired in 1954 and was part owner of the Hi-Grade Dairy. He was a member of the Everett Vasa Lodge. Oscar passed away 12 October 1967 and Julia 30 September 1971.

Westlund Reunion 2022

Youtube video of the event.

The Westlund’s had a family reunion July 2022 at the Everett Golf and Country Club in Everett Washington. Many of Oscar and Julie’s grandchildren and great grandchildren attended. Besides having the opportunity to re-established friendships the highlight of the reunion was a 30-minute presentation by Bob Bergstrom on the Westland family from years past. It was fun to reminisce of past family history and to see photos and video of our parents and grandparents. A great time was had by all.
